Biography
Verna Francis

No stranger to fans of the Chilli Funk label, Verna’s performance on “Earth is the Place” helped make it one of the hits of Nathan Haines’ Sound Travels album. The record was huge in clubs all over the world , the defining moment being , when they performed live at Francois Kervorkian’s legendary “Body And Soul” club in New York where it was an anthem . A natural performer with many talents including stage, song and dance she recently played “Miss Sherman” in ‘Fame’in londons West End for two years, and is currently appearing in Songbook of Motown – a musical tribute to all the great Motown stars. Continuing to captivate audience and critics alike, her live performances with esteemed artists such as Ronnie Laws and Jean Caan confound her importance on the soul music scene. With the Down to Earth album set for released in 2005 things look bright for this soulful diva.
